I have some awesome news to tell you guys. Before my accident, which left me unable to walk for some time, I was in production of my new web show "On My Way". After some healing I have got back on the horse and continued production. The rough draft of the intro is online until the 30th for when it will be taken offline. You can view it by clicking here. The show is expected to be online by the 10th of October, pending any detours we may run into. I hope as many of you take a look at it, and leave your opinion either on the blog or the video comments section.

I got in a near fatal highway accident on my motorcycle on Tuesday. I say near fatal because the next day a motorcyclist did more or less the same thing as I, but was ran over by a car and didn't make it.

So this is what I have been told happened (because I have no memory of the accident) I was on my way home from work, going down QEW Toronto. Traffic had slowed down to 80 km/h, when a truck in front of the car in front of me braked hard. The vehicle ahead of me braked, and I did too. Unfortunately I must have braked too much because my back wheel went into the air, back down to the ground, and then straight into the air, throwing me from the motorcycle. I then hit the ground (on my head), I don't know the details of whether I slid or what, but my helmet looks like its been sand blasted, its cracked at the chin, the one side of my jacket kinda disintegrated a bit, my pants were torn, and my gloves were ripped.

Thankfully the drivers who were in front and behind me stopped their cars so traffic would have to go around. Within four minutes of 911 being called an ambulance was there. They spend 40 minutes working on me until they brought be to the hospital. The damaged I received was amazingly not bad. My one baby finger was so dislocated the bone came through the skin. The muscles in my right hip are torn. I have road burn and bruising on a large amount of my body. My upper teeth went into my upper lip, one tooth piercing all the way through and one tooth on the bottom went into my bottom lip. Both my hands are pretty useless at this time, but I have full use of my 3 dominant fingers on both hands. Allowing me to type.

Considering the officer who came to the crash expected a DOA, I guess I'm doing damn good.

Fork in the road

Take a step back from your life right now. Look at it from the third person. Think of what is best for everyone, and not for yourself, just this one time. Make a choice, don't go back on it, just do it. Spend the time to think about it, consider all the possibilities. Don't rush into an answer, because its better if you don't change it after it has been made, that will just cause extra problems.

I say all that because I'm in that situation. I have been at an ever changing fork in the road, even though everything surrounding the paths are changing, the paths are still the same. I have been standing at this fork for way too long. My life has been changing so much in the past year and this is the only thing that hasn't changed because I have not taken a direction. All paths can lead to hardship, one will lead me to almost certain hardship for a time, but could lead me to where I want to go in the end. The other is more of an unknown, where it could lead me down a path I have been trying to get to for all this time, but then again it could lead me down the one I most dread.

This is where I need to look at it from other peoples point of view. The first path will be a difficult path for myself, but that is a weight I would carry only on my shoulders, and no one else would be exposed to that burden. The other path could lead me to happiness, the over all outcome I want out of this fork. But even with my happiness, it will cause issues to those around me, one being my best friend. If I take this second path it could just lead me down the first path with hardships being brought to more people then if I just took it upon myself to bare.

Do you try and interrupt two peoples happiness for a shot of your own? Or do you take the bullet and let them be on their way? Is a chance at love really worth crushing the relationships around you?

When is it time for you to sacrifice your happiness for the happiness of those around you? 5 Years? (just in case you hadn't caught on :P)

Damaged Ego, Damaged Bike

Last night I had my first fall on my motorcycle....

I was driving to calm down, because I was having lady troubles, and after riding the highways for about 2 hours, I had cooled my head and was ready to head back home. I took the closes exit, and as I hit the stop light of the ramp I must have hit a patch of gravel. The bike came out from under me and both me and my bike were on our sides. I came out of the accident with some road rash and my bike has a broken left turn signal and the gear shift got a little bent. I managed to pick up my bike and drive it home and the only thing that really hurt was my ego.

Break the Silence,
This doesn't mean fart, this means break the barrier between not talking to her and talking to her. It can be as simple as asking what time it is, or if at a bus stop if she knows when the bus is coming, or anything really. This cuts the air between you two, and it gives a nice transition into number two.

The Kick Start,
This is where a little observation can easily come into play. This is what gets the conversation rolling, and please I will warn you right now, unless you are really good at bullshitting an answer, don't go Rambo and say something you might regret. Here's an example, say you see a girl at the bar, and she is wearing a band T-Shirt, though it is kinda lame and obvious, you could easily start a conversation about the band, just make sure you know some of there stuff, otherwise you may just look like an idiot. The whole point of this it to Kick Start the talk, so it doesn't end with awkward silence.

The Follow Through,
This is what all your hard work comes down to. This is where you have a good conversation with the chick, begin to wrap it up. If you need a reason to wrap it up, make one up. If you keep her wanting more of what you have given her a taste of she will most likely be willing to give you her number. Oh yeah, don't forget to ask for the number, because if you forget, then all you did was have a random conversation with a random girl, which seems rather pointless.

Just a quick example of when I used all the techniques, now this situation didn't end well because the girl I saw had a boyfriend, but I still used all the same steps. It was in the university library, and so I sat one cubicle away from her. I played on my computer a bit and then asked her if she could watch my stuff because I had to get something (Break the Silence). When I got back, I asked, "Do I know you from somewhere?" Yes I know its cheesy but it was at the university and I actually kinda worked. I continued by asking if her and I might have taken a class together, now it was a straight up lie but that didn't matter because she didn't know any better (The Kick Start). Her and I chatted and we ended up talking for a bit, on what program she was in, talked about motorcycles because I have one, ect. And finally I told her my friend was suppose to meet up with me in about 5 minutes, so I asked if I could have her number. Now I knew she had a boyfriend from the conversation we were having, but I figured I would give it a shot (The Follow Through). Most girls in a relationship, unless they are the cheating kind won't give out there number, in fact they will most likely ask for your. I gave her my number and went on my way, and to be honest I don't expect to hear from her ever, but it was better then just running when ya hear the word boyfriend, because you never know when there is a hot friend of hers looking for a guy. :D

Up or Down

Falling for your own illusion, when you allow your "angle" of which you use to attract a girl to consume you and you actually become said illusion, which usually results in you entering a relationship with that girl. The only way you can break this is to find the things she dislikes (keeping in with the persona) and work it into the illusion, otherwise you break the illusion and all ends terribly.

Think with the upstairs and not the downstairs. Your motives can still come from the downstairs, but make sure the ideas and executions are from up stairs. If you need clarification upstairs is the head on your shoulders, and downstairs is the head below your waist. When you think from downstairs you can easily get caught in a relationship you don't want to be in, and you'll only be in it because of your downstairs thinking. Ways to tell if you are letting the downstairs take control, you don't really like the chick but when around her you find you are going into "boyfriend mode". This means cuddling and holding hands during a movie, ect. Now it only applies if you do not like the girl, if you do actually like her your in the clear to go full boyfriend mode. The best way to tell if you are doing it is when you with her. Even though your in boyfriend mode, you still think against what your doing, or are thinking or other girls/picturing her as another girl. Another method of telling is after she has gone, if you feel excited, giddy, happy, and can't stop thinking about her, your in the clear, if you have major doubts, are thinking why did I do that, or thinking major time about another girl, you have to get out of it as quick as possible, because downstairs is doing all your actions for you. Just a quick note, if you continue going through with it, the relationship won't last very long, it could easily end badly, and its not a one night stand so don't treat it as such!

Look back through life

Around grade 10 I thought to myself, where did I want to be in five years. At the time I had big hopes, you know be in university, have a job, my own place, be in a relationship, and have a motorcycle. Surprisingly enough I achieved all of those things, except one, the relationship. I know, I know, I really don't want to be in a relationship at this point, I mean I'm starting university, there are so many girls I can meet, to be tied down at a time like this could ruin my first year, but I still wonder what if. What if that girl from high school, if I had made my move, could her and I be together now?

Many of you may think its stupid to look at the what ifs of the past, and that I should only look on to what I can still mold into the future that I want. I know at this point in my life, if I had just met that same girl, in near that same situation, I would have dealt with it differently. I would have be the me of now instead of the me back then. Only problem is, would the me of now actually get the girl? I have lost most of my fears in talking to the opposite sex, I have become more of a romantic, I've matured (a bit).

Maybe it's about time I try something. Maybe I should take present me and see if I can win the girl I let get away. I will put any conquest of multi-female interactions on hold to see if I cant do this. For if my name isn't William Lionel Hughes!

The Thinker

Everyone in this world has been single at one time or another, and for most of us it can be hard at times bridging the gap between being single and entering the dating world once more. The greatest thing that separates us from being single and dating someone is thinking instead of doing. There are truly only three stages of your relationship status, single, dating, married. When one is single, you can’t sit around thinking. I am currently single and I have thought millions of times on what I should do, should I go and talk to that girl? What would I say? What if she rejects me? What if she has a boyfriend? What if she is actually a he? Sitting there thinking got me nowhere, the only time I began to date as a thinker was when the girl made the first move, and trust me that doesn’t happen often (usually once a year for me). When one is single, you must only do one thing, and that is DO! Do Veronica, Ashlee, Michelle, and even do Elizabeth. I know I am coming off as a pig, but my point is if you don’t go do something (breaking the ice with a girl) you won’t get anything. After all the player that doesn’t take the shot, never scores. Thinking is for being in a marriage, when you have kids, then you can think, like was this the right choice, should I send my kids to private school, all the fun things…

Mornings

Normally a morning can be a great thing, it's the beginning of the day, where anything can happen, but then again if your brother came home to visit, kept you up until 3 hours before you had to be at work, that morning can be just a bad experience. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the room and the heart attack of an alarm clock shocked the silence. I sprang from my bed in a sleep drunk hase. You know when you put your hand on the wall when you lean over so that you don't fall? Well I attempted such a feet, where as my hand slipped from its position on the wall and broke through the laundry basket in my bathroom, the food i was giving my cat flew to cover as much ground as it could, and I face planted right into the side of my now broken laundry basket. Mornings are great when you wake up unconscious enough to face plant into a piece of furniture, brush yourself off and continue on with your already going well morning.

I have many things to catch you guys up on, so here goes:

1. I got a Job - After a long period away from the working environment, I finally got myself a job. I am working at Home Depot, as a Lot Associate/Cashier. I know it's not much but its better then nothing!

2. I got accepted into University - McMaster sent me an acceptance letter near the beginning of the month! I am still hoping to hear from the other universities, but I'm just happy to be going somewhere!

3. I got my first Vehicle - I got myself a Honda CBR 125R 2008! It's a beginner's bike I know, but it's still my first vehicle ^_^

4. Shirt Orders - If you are interested in buying a 2010 Opportunity T-Shirt, or any other ones from the store, let me know, because I have found a new supplier, and I can get them for much cheaper, the only thing is, I need at least a 36 item order, so e-mail me if you want one, I think it will come to around 11$ each (not including shipping since I have to get it to you)

I feel over run...

I have slacked of in the finishing touches to my completion of courses, I still have no job, I have greatly fallen behind on the list (considering I should be about one-third completed), and I stopped working on my animation. I have not seen my friends in quite some time (excluding the one I go to night school with), and I am spending too much time playing video games...

All around I have become really discouraged. Without my Flip Mino being with me, I have no willingness to do vlogs, or complete things on the list. I need support (and I'm not talking financially, though buying a t-shirt would be cool of you), just a message of encouraging words, or an update on how you are doing on your endeavors, anything, just to show me I'm not dead on this.

I have a lot of things I want to cover in this post, so I'll categorize for better reading experience!

Shoe Dilemma! (washing shoe laces)

A few weeks back I went partying with some friends to celebrate the end of adult day school. For those of you who have been following, I went to improve my marks so I could get into University. I went in my brand new (white) shoes. Before the night began they were pristine, with nothing more then dirt on the bottom. After the great night of partying to the point of almost memory loss (judge me if you like) I woke up the next morning to find that my shoes were now a shade of dirt gray! I was disappointed by the site, but not surprised, they are size 13 so I can imagine them getting trampled on at the club. I spent the next while cleaning my shoes, but the laces were damned to be not such an easy task. I had decided I was not going to just go out and get new laces (call it lazy, call it frugal). I began by just running them through water, did virtually nothing, then an idea struck me, I will wash it in the washing machine! I know this sounds like a bad idea. "But William they will just fall apart!", no, I have put it on the delicate cycle and put them within a sock, to prevent them from breaking. And holy cow, they came out of the washer in one piece, with most of the stains gone! Considering I didn't use bleach to help whiten, they came out surprisingly clean! Now I don't recommend people doing this, but if you want to try, go ahead.

Lesson Learned... (Party Tips!)

1. If you plan on drinking, don't bring anything you will be sore to part with (unless you have a method to ensure its security). As most of you know I lost my keys to my scooter and house, my Flip Mino HD, and my brand new leather jacket! I had put the item in coat check, where you put stuff to be safe! This also applies to money, bring what you plan on spending, because chances are you will be either buying a sexy chick a drink or two, or drinking more to make the night one you won't remember.
2. Don't get smashed without a fail-safe! If you get smashed make sure you have someone with you that can get you home safe. Whether that means a friend to put you in a taxi, or a foxy babe to bring her back to her place. Last thing you want to do is wake up lost.
3. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.
4. Make sure you know the rules. Last thing you need is to be refused into a club.
5. Look/Smell Good. I know this one seems obvious, but some forget!
6. Be prepared! I mean have the required items for the night you want to have (cash, condoms, mints, ect.). And especially a charged phone! Last thing you want is to find a girl interested in you, and your phone is dead! Now if she is interested in you enough, hope that someone has a marker, get her to write it on you.
7. HAVE FUN! Honestly, just have a good time! You only live once after all. :)

I have been a fan, and long time member on newgrounds.com and for years I have avoided the "Audio Portal", but no more! I have found the most amazing beats! Any genre, you can find it, but most importantly they have an amazing selection of dance music for parties. Abraham Remix is one song I can't stop listening to, and all songs on newgrounds are free to download. The only thing is its not for commercial use, so use it at a house party you're hosting. It is a great way to have unique songs that everyone likes and yet no one has heard. You can give a shout out to the artist so his name gets out there.

For some reason when I upload videos to Youtube from my phone, it comes up as undefined, meaning my video wasn't really uploaded! I have tried it many times with the same result, so I am going to attempt to transfer it to my computer and upload it that way.

So it has been a while, and that I am sorry for. My mother got very ill, and between that and school, I had no free time to devote to the blog/vlog/list, but all is better now. So let me update you on a few things...

First of all, you all know by now at least that my Flip Mino is gone, for good, so I need a new one... But luckily Palm did a system update of my phone (Palm Pre) and now I can record video and upload it directly onto youtube (only issue is that they need to update it again because I have made about 10 vlogs, and either they have not managed to record properly or refused to upload...)

Second of all, I know have fallen behind on the list (3/52), but I am almost done number 41, I am making plans currently to do number 25, and number 1 is still an on going process...

Oh and just to let you know I bought Final Fantasy 13, well I bought it a week ago, and I finished it just as I am writing this. It was a great game guys. If you're a fan of the FF series just go and get yourself a copy. I never ended up getting FF 12 but I have 3, 8, 11. It was a excellent game (I'd give it at least a 8.7/10) Loved it. Go buy it!

Life is kind of slowing down for yours truly... I finish adult day school come this Tuesday, I am currently trying to work on an animation that will be high caliber enough to get front paged on newgrounds.com, my love life is about as existent as global warming (lol I'm acting like an American politician HAR HAR HAR), I still have 49 things on the list to cross off, my cat is obese, and I'm in love with a stripper...

Okay so maybe some of those are not entirely true, but I am still video camera-less and seemingly can't get the women I am interested in to see me as a potential boyfriend (well at least for the next month, cuz to be honest relationships get boring after that long, and hot sexy women out there, try and prove me wrong, email me for my number ;) )

My Blog still has not reached out to the many blog readers out there and I am running out of ways to get it into the homes of the everyday internet consumer. Hopefully once my animation is complete and I have obtained a new moving picture recording device I can start raking in the views. I need 248k more views on this blog... my only question is should I include views of my videos as well?

Anywho I wanna recommend a book to you all if you have not read it, its call "Snow Falling on Cedars", it's a book with war, love, lust, crime, farming, fishing, sex, japanese, samurai, strawberries, and so much more. It was a great book, and usually I find it hard to read books (not because I'm dumb, but because they bore me). I was on the pursuit of crossing number 21 off my list and the worst thing happened!

On my way there I was filming for me next vlog, ended up waiting around for my friends to arrive, so that I could put my Flip Mino HD and my New Leather Jacket in their trunk. I text them and found that they had arrived there before me. So I went in to see them, and figured I could just drop my jacket into the coat check (3$ no big deal). After a night of partying I had made my decision that I would head home, went down to the coat check, and went to get my jacket, which was holding my flip mino safe and sound. I looked to my pocket to find that my coat check slip had disappeared. The guys said that was no problem, everyone loses their ticket. I described him the jacket, and there was one that looked almost and I mean almost identical to mine, just had buttons instead of a zipper. Turns out my jacket isn't there no more, I'm guessing the guy who owned the jacket that looked like mine took mine accidentally, but that means I'm out 100$ from my jacket, and 200$ for my flip mino, and I can't make anymore Vlogs.

I know this is asking a lot, but if you guys have any extra cash lying around in your accounts, any amount would be awesome to get so that I could get my vlogs going again... That or buy something from the shop. I hate asking for hand me outs, but I need my video camera to get the vlogs up and I am currently on the pursuit of a job, but no such luck in this damn economy :(

First of all, I just wanna say I know I am falling behind on the list, after all its been a month and a half and i have only done 2 things, but have faith!

Secondly, I just finished my first run through of courses in adult day school (calculus and physics 4U) And i think i did really well, the exams were easy and i did the course work, so hopefully we will see a 90% out of it!

Finally I wanna talk about life... This list was all about taking chances and doing stuff, and I hope that people are seeing that and trying stuff they wouldn't normally try, on the other hand though, I should be applying this to my life in general. I'm still afraid to take chances in everyday life, and I am now gonna make a stand and try to be ambitious with random parts in my life!

Ok so as you all know I started Adult Day School last Wed. Well everyday I have packed myself a thermas full of nice hot soup, and every time I go to pack a spoon, something comes up. Literally! I will even grab the spoon first thing in the morning, and put it beside the thermas so I don't forget it, but every time the damn spoon evades me! Alright, so a few things I need to say...
Currently all video uploading will stop due to me running up my total download/upload limit... so unless I can figure out another way to upload my stuff, we will not be seeing my face until February.... SAD FACE!

In other news I need you all to help me change something on my list... See on the list (number 32) I kept it to only CAFEPRESS.COM and I want to change it to 1000 items of merchandise in general, after all if I do get very popular I will order my own stuff to send to you guys :D So I figured the only way I can truly do this is if i get at least 50 people (different people) who say I can change this, since you are all my audience its really up to you! So I did some donating of my blood, and it was really easy. I honestly think you all should try it, it's a good cause and you can save someone's life by doing so. I'm going to be donating a minimum of two more times this year, but I'm thinking I'll do it more.

In other news, I have been keeping with my workouts (training for the marathon, and getting a six pack) as well as doing studying for university. The contest is still up guys, so submit those designs, see the previous post for more detail. I think either this weekend or sometime this week I will do something else on the list, but I'm keeping it a secret. Anyways my next post will be up sooner then it took me to do this one, so hope to hear from you all soon.

Vlog 5 and then a Contest

Hey guys! Heres the vlog

So first the shirt challenge. You are to design an official blog T-Shirt. Please make sure the T-Shirt is relevant to the Blog and Vlogs, you can use screen shots from the videos if you like, the name of the Blog (take out the 52 Weeks part though) or the URLs. If you want the design on the front you should make it 10 inches by 10 inches, if the front pocket 6 inches by 6 inches, if back 10 inches by 10 inches, and if back shoulders 10 inches by 4 inches. If your design is for a black or colored t-shirt please create the design with a transparent background, otherwise you'll have a big square on the t-shirt. If you want a send me your design please specify where you think it should be on the shirt, whether it should be on colored shirt (if specific color tell me) or a white shirt, and email it to me at lionelz@cogeco.ca . If your design is chosen to be the official T-shirt for my Blog/Vlogs then you will be contacted at the e-mail of which you sent the design from. The winner will get to see his T-shirt on the Vlogs, I will try and do as many of the items on the list with that T-shirt on (I doubt i can do skinny dipping with it on though, haha), also the winner will receive 50% of the profits from the shirt's sales, in other words I split 50/50 everything I make on the T-shirt with the designer. The designer also gets to choose the price of the T-Shirt with my approval (to prevent ridiculous prices). Submission deadline is February 10th! Will not accept any designs after such time!

So I have not crossed anything off the list yet and its already been 5 days, getting kinda worried. I'm donating blood next Tuesday (January 12th) for the first time. If you are thinking you wanna donate blood along with me, and you live in the Hamilton area, come by McMaster University between 10am and 5pm. Its always good to donate blood, because you never know who'll need it.

Training for a Marathon

So guys I found out that a Marathon consists of 42km....
To put that in perspective I live in Hamilton, and if I ran to Mississauga's U of T campus, that is about the same distance. So I started running yesterday! Here's the video.

Also I'm going to be donating blood some time next week hopefully :D, so... I challenge all of you to go and donate blood (if you can) record it, and use that as a video response to my next Vlog!

Okay so the list is almost complete, which is great to see!

I posted some crazy pictures of myself to show my lack of a six pack, and I'll post another February 1st, to show my progress on crossing that off my list. If you guys have some ideas or can lend a hand to my completion of tasks it would be awesome, but not before New Years. I'll be posting one more video before New Years, which is just a day of my volunteering by handing out hot chocolate to people in the cold. I'll post it either Xmas eve or sometime later today.

So I've got 20 days left to finish this list of mine. I need your guys help, even if a friend of yours comes up with a cool idea, I'll give him credit (or you can lie so you get the credit).

Anyone of the items on my list may come off before New Years, but once it becomes 2010 that list will be permanent. Now I'm not going to accept ideas for doing anything illegal, self mutilating, or sexual (too many people have suggested things to do in the bedroom).

You can leave your idea even in the comments, because I'll check it out. Leave your name if that's how you want me to put you down as a suggestion, otherwise I'll just take whatever name is there. You can also leave me your website if you want me to put that up with the suggestions. I really really need all of your help.

Some that I have passed on were sky diving, bungee jumping, and scuba diving, because I'm leaving those for a mid life crisis, lol.

Starting January 1st, 2010, I'm going to start to complete my list of 52 items. Simple enough, 52 items, 52 weeks, so one a week. I will try to post videos of me completing each one of the 52 tasks for your enjoyment. Some maybe more thrilling then others, but I want to bring everyone along for this ride in my life. I currently only have 25 of the 52 things on the list, so I need to finish it before New Years. This is what I got so far.

1. Get into University,
2. Ride on a plane,
3. Drive a car or motorcycle 200km/h,
4. Make a music video (Animation),
5. Go off a jump and travel 25ft at least,
6. Swim in the ocean,
7. Appear on T.V.,
8. Get a six pack (not of the beer variety),
9. Move out of my parent's house,
10. Learn to do a back flip,
11. Take a ride in a limo,
12. Fire a gun,
13. Successfully drink a Car Bomb,
14. Travel to another continent,
15. Get my ass waxed,
16. Go to the Spa,
17. Stay awake for 72 hours straight, at least...
18. Participate in a threesome ^_^
19. Do some volunteer work,
20. Get my hands on a bottle of chloroform,
21. Go Clubbing,
22. Have my website get 250,000 hits (perferably unique ones)
23. Have a drink at a swim up to bar,
24. Get a Job (suggested by my Brother)

The main reason for this list is so I actually do something with my life this year. It's a good guide to make my life more eventful. This year all I did was go back to high school, had a summer job, and am now doing independent courses. I got accepted into college for art, but I want to go to university for Business/Math, preferable McMaster University in my home town. I'm 19, turning 20 June 1st, and I haven't done much with my life. I live in my parents basement, don't have a girlfriend, or a job.

I am going to be starting up a website to post my videos, animations, and host tournaments for games. I have some experience with hosting tournaments, but I have never had a base to do so, so that's what the website will be for. I have also always wanted to be a Millionaire, I know...who has not wanted to be, but I'm determined, it's my goal in life, and I think I can achieve it by 2020. I'll be 30 by then.
